iStore R12 – Disable User Creation
Personally, I feel this is a cool feature to disable Creating or Updating registered users for a B2B account, where the Primary Users had all the abilities to control the user’s access, with a set of roles assigned to them. With the help of a profile option, we can disable the Creating or Updating of Users by R12 iStore Primary Users.
By setting the profile option, APPS_SSO_USER_CREATE_UPDATE, to Disabled. When this profile option is set to Disabled, the following takes place in Oracle iStore:
• If CAPs (Central Access Provisioning system) is, also, disabled, all registration icons and links are disabled. If CAPs is enabled and APPS_SSO_USER_CREATE_UPDATE is disabled, the registration links are available. Selecting a link takes the user directly to the CAPs registration page.
• In the user management pages, the primary user cannot create a new user in the Create Contact screen• All user data fields (such as start/end dates and password) are read-only; the primary user cannot update any user data.
• If a user tries to invoke the Registration page by typing a URL or from a deep link, the system will show an error message in all cases except when a CAPs is implemented. If a CAPs is implemented, the system will take the user directly to the CAPs registration page.
• If the Application SSO Login Type is set to SSO and the Application SSO Change Password URL profile is set to the URL of the specified password reset JSP for OID, the Profile icon will link to the central JSP instead of a link to the password JSP. In this case, instead of showing textboxes for password reset in the Profile, Personal Information screen of the Customer Application, iStore displays a link pointed to by the Application SSO Change Password URL profile.
