Release 12 – Transport Management integration with Order Management

The Oracle Order Management R12 release is integrated with Oracle Transport Management. This is a new feature that has been included with this release along with Oracle Shipping Execution.

Order Management deals with all the processes involved with completing an order in any business. It touches on everything from sales order creation to inventory management to the delivery of the order. So integrating the Transport Management module will make the system more interactive and informative.

As the name suggests Oracle Transport Management does transportation planning and execution in combination with freight management (payment, logistics, rating and routing). Transport Management adds the following features with Order management:

• Provision to select the carrier through tenders
• Rating and routing of freights
• Update and re-rate actual shipping quantities
• Freight payment, audit and approval
• In-transit statuses

Furthermore, the above features of Transport Management are also integrated with Oracle Purchasing. Oracle Purchasing automates purchase order processing allowing the buyers to be more productive and also adapting to any purchasing process.
