Utility to Export / Import Media Objects from one server to another
When a customer plans to move the media objects from a development or a test server to a production server, iBizSoft has come across issues where the customer is not given full access to the production server, there by making it time consuming to move the media objects and its associated source files. iBizSoft’s team members comprehended this time consuming step and developed this efficient utility that would export the media objects from a development or test server as an XML file and let an administrator or a DBA import it back to the production server in a matter few seconds.
- Export
* Export Media Object with same Search Criterion and Search Value.
* Enable Debugging
* Generate Output File or Download XML File From Browser.Step1
* Search Media Object in iStore (Which should be exported in XML file)
* Make note of Search Criterion and Search Value.
Step 2(optional)
* Review Media Object which should be exported.
* Click on Update Icon against Media Object to Review assigned content.
* Click on Updated Icon against content item to review assigned Minisites and content details.
Step 3
* Switch to Oracle iStore Concurrent Program Responsibility.
* iStore Concurrent Program responsibility will start Oracle Apps.
Step 4
* Execute “Custom iStore Media Object Export Program” concurrent program.
* Select search criterion and provide search value.
* Search criterions are same as in Oracle iStore.
* Provide Output File Name – If Output File Name is not provided XML file can still be view in Output.
Step 5
Review Concurrent Program before Submission
Step 6
* Submit and Wait While Concurrent Program Finishes.
* After concurrent program finishes execution.
* If program finishes normally, Click on “View Output” to view XML content generated.
* Click on “View Log” to view log.
Step 7
* Click on View Output to see output of concurrent program.
* The concurrent program generates media object content in XML format.
Step 8
* If Output File was specified in parameters view file.
* Output viewed using “View Output” also has same content as in Output File.
Step 9
* This step is optional and shows that media object does not exists prior to the import.
* Go to iStore Administrator > Media Objects and search for the media object which should be imported.
Step 10
* Switch to Oracle iStore Concurrent Program Responsibility
* iStore Concurrent Program responsibility will start Oracle Apps.
Step 11
* Execute “Custom iStore Media Object Import Program” concurrent program
* Provide Input File Name generated using “Custom iStore Media Object Export Program” concurrent program
* Select Yes for “Enable Tracing” if debugging log is required
Step 12
* Review Concurrent Program before Submission
Step 13
* Submit and Wait While Concurrent Program Finishes.
* After concurrent program finishes execution
* If program finishes normally, Click on “View Output” to view output generated
* Click on “View Log” to view log
Step 14
* This step is optional and shows that media objects are created in iStore from concurrent
* Go to iStore Administrator > Media Objects and search
